NBC has picked up a show about cops and robots from Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles' Josh Friedman. And they have even ordered a pilot for a show about android cops from J.J. Abrams and J.H. Hyman's Fringe. Will we be getting a few shows about android cops now?

The Hollywood Reporter describes Wyman's show as a "buddy-cop drama" that is set in the future, where human LAPD officers team up with "highly evolved humanlike androids."

Wyman is writing the pilot script, with Abrams and Bad Robot's Bryan Burk producing it. (The Abrams-Wyman show will actually film a pilot, not just craft a script. The Friedman show, with Howard Gordon producing, so far just has a script deal.)

Will it make it to our screens? As long as Abrams promises to mind fuck us all over again like how he always does, then we suppose it probably is going to be.
