Star Wars aficionado Mark Dermul's job is very interesting. He leads tours in North Africa of different locations featured in films. In 2010 on a trip to Tunisia, he and his cohort decided to bring Luke Skywalker's boyhood home - the Lars Homestead back to life.

Dermul and the fans put out a call to Star Wars fans all over the world via Facebook for what they called the "Save Lars Project." They managed to raise more than $11,000 to restore the desert igloo hut. The restoration process was put on hold in 2011 and it only took place this year over an eight day span in late May, early June.
