The handsome Mad Men star is now set to play the lead in Million Dollar Arm, a film about the sports agent who scouted the first pro baseball talent from India.
Jon Hamm will take on the role of J. B. Bernstein, a sports business veteran who set up an Indian Reality game show The Million Dollar Arm with the intention of finding cricket players whose pitching arms could also be used in baseball in the States. He ends up finding valuable pitchers in 19-year old Rinku Singh and Dinesh Patel, signing them to the Pittsburgh Pirates and making them the first athletes from India to get pro baseball contracts. Bernstein also helped acculturate the players with action films and rap, leaving them with a broad vocabulary of things Will Smith has said.
