The Avengers has reportedly pulled in a whopping $178 million in 39 international territories this weekend, instantly breaking international box office records. The fringe movie based on a beloved comic book celebrated its biggest opening weekend in 12 regions, including Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador, Peru, Central America, Bolivia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, New Zealand, The Philippines.

Not bad numbers, especially when you consider that the movie won’t even be showing in the U.S. until this Friday (May 4th).
